The Wedgwood Visitor Centre site was showing large increases in traffic from mobile devices. Google analytics confirmed what is becoming a common trend – the number of mobile visitors was on the up. In order for the visitors to the tourist attraction to get a good expereince on their smartphone, a mobile specific site was developed.
Using multisite Drupal, the existing platform was simply extended to accommodate the functionality. Utilising a mobile subdomain with a gentle redirect from the main site if a mobile was detected – the mobile site was slimmed down and fast loading – providing the ideal partner.
